In front of a live Caltrans audience, SmartCycle conducted a high-pressure break-in simulation. The upgraded soffit took aggressive force, suffered only minor cosmetic damage, and was opened cleanly with the approved tool.
Rapid response in LA
Following recurring fires and encampment entries under LA overpasses, Caltrans requested more SmartCycle soffit covers. The team completed the work swiftly, protecting some of the city’s most vulnerable bridge cells.
No breach, no compromise
To test real-world resilience, Caltrans initiated a 3-week force test against a SmartCycle soffit. Despite aggressive attempts using tools and manual force, the unit remained sealed and structurally sound.
California’s exposed electrical junction boxes were frequent targets of theft and vandalism. SmartCycle introduced a new cover system engineered for security, weather resistance, and ease of maintenance.
